Our goal is to minimize the effect that trauma has on our clients' lives due to physical, sexual, and emotional abuse by helping them to regain a place of wellness, power, stability, and the ability to love in their lives.

Prism Counseling & Community Service’s mission is to create a warm and accepting therapeutic environment while providing FREE mental health counseling, support groups, and case management to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT+) Community who have suffered physical, sexual, and emotional trauma. AMANDA, LPC, NCC, BC-TMH
Therapist and CEO

Amanda is an Alabama (LPC) and Nationally (NCC) accredited mental health counselor who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Troy University. She has over 8 years of counseling experience, with 5 of those years in private practice at Prism Counseling Services of Enterprise, AL. Her passion for positively impacting LGBTQ+ healthcare and justice led her to create Prism Counseling and Community Services, a non-profit organization providing pro-bono individual and group therapeutic care to adolescents and adults with emotional, psychological, and behavior management problems related to the partner, domestic, sexual, bullying and other forms of violence. Her roles at PCCS include being CEO, therapist, and Co-Chairing the South Alabama Pride Festival.

 

A seasoned professional trainer, Amanda has presented various LGBTQ+ subjects to many statewide and national conferences; government and private agencies; non-profits, workshops, and other organizations. A rising expert in her field, Amanda is effortlessly influencing and improving the narrative of LGBTQ+ healthcare and justice with her knowledge, experience, passion, and belief that everyone matters!

VALARIE 
Project Coordinator, Social Media Manager

A native of Covington County, Valarie serves as the project coordinator and social media manager for Prism Counseling & Community Services. She earned Bachelor’s and Master’s of Science degrees in Criminal Justice with a minor in human services from Troy University. She is also a certified master life coach and ULC ordained minister. Valarie brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in victim services, operational management, compliance, and evaluation; gained in 3 U.S. states and Iraq! Valarie is a staunch advocate of equal and victim rights, mental health and the creation of safe, affirming environments where EVERYONE can positively thrive! Valarie resides primarily in Pensacola, FL and enjoys traveling, reading, writing, performing community theatre, leading ghost tours, and appearing as the team’s crime expert on the internationally popular “Second Sight Paranormal TV” series, currently airing in 112 countries.

JENNIFER 
Case Manager, Volunteer

Jennifer serves as case manager for Prism Counseling & Community Services, helping provide a safe, supportive, and empowering space for the local LGBT+ community. Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master of Science degree in Management from Troy University. Continuing her educational pursuit, Jennifer has recently been accepted into Troy University’s Clinical Health Masters Program. With 2 years at PCCS, Jennifer has become an invaluable team member, enjoys community outreach and spearheads the Individuality Closet! Jennifer is a doting mom to her amazing teenage son who she loves to pieces, as well as her 3 fur babies, Roscoe, Link, and Hermione. She’s also an ordained minister and in her spare time, enjoys reading, watching Netflix, hiking, painting, and photography.
TERESA 
Volunteer
 

Teresa is a proud graduate of Enterprise High School and currently serves the community through her employment with the City of Enterprise. Married to her husband Clay for 11 years, she balances her professional life with her passion for creativity as the owner and operator of The Obscure Artbox, where she crafts custom door hangers.

 

An active volunteer, Teresa dedicates her time to Prism Counseling & Community Services (PCCS) as a group facilitator for RainbowYOUTH. Additionally, she volunteers as PCCS's photographer, playing a key role in documenting the organization's events and milestones.

 

At home, Teresa is a devoted dog mom to four energetic and adorable fur babies. In her leisure time, she enjoys painting, reading, photography, and taking road trips.
